At Yazeba’s Bed & Breakfast it’s always September 15th because September 15 is Yazeba’s favorite day of the year. It also happens to be Gertrude’s birthday so come and join the party!
But shh…Gertrude hates her birthday so we’ve got to make it a surprise!
My First Dungeon presents: Gertrude's Birthday Surprise is an 8-part Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast actual play limited series featuring a full cast from across the ttrpg community and beyond, bespoke sound design, and original music.
Yazeba’s Bed & Breakfast is the latest release from Possum Creek Games. Often referred to as “the Saturday morning cartoon that never was,” this series endeavors to bring that lost cartoon to your ears in the form of recorded actual play. Our cast will step into the roles of the game’s pre-generated characters that fill the halls of the Bed & Breakfast, building off of the lovingly crafted residents and guests to tell our own version of this story. In the end, this series will serve as a primer for those considering picking up this game for the first time, a fresh take for those who already love the chapters within, and a reminder that there is always room for everyone at Yazeba’s Bed & Breakfast.
Where should I start?
We’ve released the episodes in an order we like–starting with Chapter 5 - Another Rainy Day–BUT these episodes can be listened to in any order so start with whatever chapter piques your interest. If you don’t know anything about this game, the interview with designer Jay Dragon is a great place to get the rundown.

Original Character Playbooks
During our games we (mostly Shenuque) accidentally created a bunch more characters to populate the Bed & Breakfast characters like The Pantry Demons, The Werther’s Ghost, and…Benedict?
We loved these characters so much that Elliot Davis decided to make fully designed Playbooks for each of them so you can add them to your own games of Yazeba’s Bed & Breakfast.
